I struggle for cardio motivation at times cos I really am enjoying my bulking period so at times I do 20min up hill walk on the treadmill at a fast walking pace 2-3 a week afta my weight session!

I acutally do 4 circuits (10 minute total time) before I lift. When my workout is complete, I do a cool down but keep my muscles warm for a moderate 5 minute walk..

This helps with getting my heart rate up and helping me stay there, but my lifting is full circuits for strength training... I am trying to trim down a bit..

The cool down helps me with muscle recovery after the entire workout is compete.

IMO, I could not do a level 10 and above and incline higher 5 and above...too much taxing on my muscles before the training begins... I also workout fasted so this would not be good either way for me..

After unless cardio times are your aim. Id want to be at peak so I could keep form and lift efficiently.
If you cant get motivated for cardio, then consider not doing it or finding an alternative form that you cna enjoy. I do inderstand it can be a grind at times.

    Hi there:)
I am NO expert and was confused about this for a minute as well. But I was given a very logical answer that I will pass along...
You always lift before cardio because you want to have the BEST form lifting. You do not want to tire your body out before you list because you do not want to risk form.
I use this rule and have seen some good results. Good luck!!!

I agree with Erika, if you're lifting heavy, you don't want to be tired when you lift...

The timing doesn't matter. It's important to maintain endurance, so do cardio of some kind for sure. I see tons of broscience out there telling people to avoid cardio while bulking at all costs.

I was doing a 6-8 minute warmup at a moderate intensity, stretching, and then lifting. Nothing taxing, for sure. Just enough to get loose and feel energized to lift. Then I would do a 10-15 min session of intense cardio after lifting to keep my endurance up overall. Not every day though, maybe 3 times per week.

I agree with Erika. I will do about 3 minutes on a machine to warm up my muscles; then do my weights with a 20 min or so cardio session. I'm trying to build up my muscles so don't want to over do the cardio.

If you want to burn body fat focus on the calorie defecit. You can't bulk and burn body fat at the same time.

Personally I run before I lift, as its my priority. The resulting testosterone surge makes me strong and focussed.

Do the incline walk for 15-20 AFTER the workout. Be sure you heart rate gets into the fat burning zone at this time.

If your weight training session was intense enough your glycogen stores should be depleted....and you should be in fat burning heaven if your get that heart rate set right.
