So i was wondering if there was any nutritional value or disadvantage to eating over the recommended daily allowance of fiber? I just today added the fiber total to my daily report in addition to the others i had, and it says that i'm over my recommended fiber allowance...

It all depends on where you're getting your source of fiber from. Assuming it's all from healthy sources, if you're feeling "gassy" or constipated, then you're probably eating a lot of fiber. Otherwise, you're doing fine.0

The "side effects" described are a normal occurence until your body adjusts to a higher level of fiber, so if you get them, it just means you need to keep on with what you are doing and wait for the after effects to subside. Drinking sufficient water is very important when your fiber intake is high. If you don't certain digestive processes may "slow down" if ya know what I mean.

Here is a Fiber calculator. I try and get 25g a day or more.
