Be ready for the endless amount of comments bashing on the documentary and the people in it.

And yes, I think it is an excellent movie, and I don't care what people say, I think they are very right about what they show and talk about in the documentary.

All I needed to do was read that Mercola was in it.

That was enough to discredit the film. I won't be watching.

discredit lol, just because you don't agree with one person out of the whole cast... nice

My problem with the documentary was that there seemed to be more of an emphasis on scare tactics than factual science.

And Dr. Mercola is a known quack.

Meh. There are way better documentaries out there.

The only way they could have lost any more credit was if they had Dr Oz on there with miracle pills and angels. Nearly all these documentaries have less truth in them than a conspiracy theory documentary.

Thanks for mentioning Dr. Mercola had something to do with it. You just saved me from wasting 2 hours of my life watching it.

Doctor Mercola is a quack. If they're going to use a quack as a source, it puts a good chunk of the content up for question.

I prefer facts to scare mongering. Mercola is really short on facts.

Mercola has been discredited by the entire scientific community almost. He is nothing more than a peddler of nonsense who preys on the gullible.

ETA: Some light reading on Mercola...

He's the only "doctor" in the documentary as far as I can remember. Additionally, I'm pretty sure all of the panelists are labeled as teachers...

It's a lot of fear mongering and incorrect information.

The FDA seems to be "disagreeing" with him too.

Ok, so I guess the whole focus went to mercola instead of what I was trying to say, which is, the documentary is not about mercola, which is why suggesting the whole documentary is crap is nonsense. Would be kind of like saying, that a documentary where they interview an obese person is about obesity.

Anyway, is ok to not like the documentary, to think is BS, but as always, if it can be used to motivate people to get healthier, why the hell trying to ruin it for them? Just because for you the information shown there might be BS or the casting is full of people you don't believe in, doesn't mean it cannot have a positive effect on others.

One of the people giving information on how to be healthy is Mercola. A lot of his beliefs on the subject are... wrong, and not supported by science. That's the problem.

Oh give me a break. Are you telling me that everything you do in life has to be supported by science? Like absolutely everything?

I don't care if is supported by science or not. The question is, will it harm the person? No? Good! Will it help the person improve his/her life in any possible way? Yes? Good!

Anyway. Not trying to change the way you think, but I'm just trying to prove a point.

No, but I prefer that documentaries that discuss scientific topics also have some scientific backing...

This is the never ending story. People just read what they want and ignore the rest. I said "not trying to change anyone's mind", so yes watch whatever the hell you want to watch or don't watch anything if you don't want. I can care less about it!

I'd rather watch The Very Hungry Caterpillar (also on Netflix).

Your tone doesn't exactly communicate apathy. I'm not sure you're being sincere.

You asked the question. I just gave you my answer. I'm not reading what I want. I am reading what you wrote. You asked if everything we do is based on science. The answer is no...but IF I am watching a documentary about science, and they use non-science to back it up, it kinda becomes moot at that point.

Ninety minutes. That's ninety minutes of my life I could spend drooling over David Tennant while watching Doctor Who on Netflix instead of listening to information backed by pseudo-science. Your argument is invalid.
