I have been a silent member of MFP for a while but have decided to be more involved. I finally discovered that when I actually started tracking calories and exercise why I hadn't been losing weight. Just "thinking" about cutting back and exercising more wasn't getting me anywhere. So I've been counting calories closely, and got a FitBit to track exercise (plus Cyclemeter for my commuting to/from work), and voila! I'm finally losing weight. It's that spot at the end of the day when I'm thinking about more sweets, but the calorie count says there's no free calories...
Now I plan ahead, maybe conserve on lunch, exercise a bit more, so I can indulge some evenings.
I started at 145lb, and just dropped below 140. I want to get down to 120, which is what I weighed for years. Over the last 4-5 years, it started creeping up and up--too much god food, too little exercise. It's time to reverse the process so I can wear all my favorite clothes again!
Wish me determination and discipline.
Robbie
