Is this a normal thing?

Until a little while ago, I COULD NOT control my food intake. I would eat too many calories,, and then hate myself later. I decided to not eat for a day, because I ate so much the day before. Since I did that, I've had no problem controlling food intake, which feels good. It's been a few weeks and, after the initial water weight loss, I've lost about 5 pounds. I was curious as to why this is happening, not that I'm complaining.

Maybe that day of fasting was something you needed to do to reset...

It may just have been a mental issue. By fasting you proved to yourself that you were in control of your food, not vice versa. This may have been the mental boost you needed to take control. Regardless of why it worked, I'm just glad to hear that it did work =)
