So, I have been kicking butt lately at the gym going 3 days per week and taking one class per week. I am a nurse and I am gone 4:30a-8:30p three days a week and I get my 10,000 steps while I am there if not more. Anyway, long story short, when I am at the gym I am a "sweaty Betty". I am drenched with sweat and I need to shower badly. I also shower immediately after work because of all the germs I am exposed to. All of this washing my hair is making my hair and skin so dry! If I go to the gym twice in a day then I am showering twice.

Any tips?

Thanks!

Might look for a different shampoo/conditioner and soap and/or use lotion. I found shampoo/conditioner for curly hair tends to have more moisturizers. I wash with soap then a moisturizing body's wash (dove) and a lotion if I've been swimming.

dont use shampoo after you workout. Just rinse with water. shampoo on the other days.

Does your scalp sweat excessively? If it's not too bad, I just blow it dry, apply a dry shampoo, rub in, and off I go. I couldn't possibly wash my hair daily.

Is there a dry shampoo you recommend?

They're all pretty much the same. Anything you can buy at the drugstore will work. Just make sure you scalp is dry before you use it.

I use just the conditioner to wash hair with and use moisturizing soap, Dove (I think), then lotion.

After your workout, dry your hair with a hair dryer (to dry the sweat) THEN use dry shampoo. I like tresseme because it's cheap and gets the job done! Aussie has one that works well too.

Suave makes a great dry shampoo (gold bottle) and it smells really good. But yes, make sure your scalp is completely dry first!

Forget the shampoo. Just rinse and light conditioner.
