PMS, no motivation.

I get severe Pms that causes me depression and total lack of energy. I've been so good on my eating and fitness plan until a few days ago until Pms arrived. Anyone else suffer like this?? I tried going to to gym today and I lasted 10 minutes before I left. I felt totally drained and didn't care.

I do, and then through the following week. I barely want to get out of bed to go to work, and I sleep all the time I'm not here(work). I also don't get full and don't even care so I eat a bunch of junk. It's just now ending for me. I have no info to help you out though... so if someone has some, I will also be watching this.

Yeah, I'm the same, I'm just finishing mine now, and I've been exhausted all week, luckily I'm not at work at the moment, so I can sleep more, but I understand not everyone can do that.

I also get super hungry, but I try to be as good as I can be, I'm normally on 1500, but I go to about 1600-1700 for 3 or 4 days because I just can't help it, I cut up a Snickers into 50 calorie pieces and I only have one a day and leave the rest in the fridge.

Plus, I had a major pie craving, so I boiled some raspberries and an apple with a sprinkling of sugar, and I separated it into 5 servings, and I have it with 10g of Graham Cracker crumbs, and some full fat whipped cream, and its so satisfying, but only 250 calories. Totally worth it for the 5 days that I've felt like crap.

I also have to walk my dog three times a day, so I just do slow, small walks (she's only a little dog) and it helps me feel a bit more energised and makes me feel like I'm doing a bit of exercise, even though I'm not.

Just try to have small amounts of 'bad' food, serve it out, and go and sit down, so you don't eat more than you plan, and just do some light exercise. You can make up for it all next week. As long as you don't eat above maintenance you'll be fine.

Sorry for you but happy for me to see I'm not alone! In the midst of it now. Been feeling totally depressed and been eating tons on bread and cheese this week so my weight is back up and that doesn't help. I just try to let myself rest more than usual (if I can, 2 kids under 4) and it does help me when I'm on a low-sugar diet, but that hasnt't been happening recently! Good luck. Add me if you like :)

I get really awful PMS. I get mood swings, bloating... the whole enchilada. I am actually PMSing right now. What helps a LOT is to get in a good work out.

I know you said you left the gym, and that's okay. Maybe find a different form of exercise you enjoy more, or listen to an album that really pumps you up while you work out. The more you focus on how much you don't want to be there, the more tempted you'll be to leave. It's all about focus, and sometimes it takes a great deal more energy to get that focus (like during PMS) but the reward is worth it. Also maybe try taking a fun class if that's an option. Making your workout more fun instead of doom and gloom could be helpful.

Another thing I do is have black, cold brewed coffee. It gives me an energy jolt without any indigestion, and helps with my cramps, too.

You can do things to minimize the symptoms of PMS, like bloating (oh my god I am so bloated right now), but in reality you're still going to suffer. What matters most is that you keep your goals in mind and focus on getting through to the other side of PMS. Keep your chin up, I know it's hard!

Yes! And the urge to shove chips and Reese cups in my mouth at the same time! And the sadness at seeing the 3lb water weight on the scale and feeling bloated and then crying... Then trying to run and thinking "My boobs hurt, my boobs hurt, why must they keep bouncing!?!"

Haha I'm right there with you this week. I am grateful for skinny cow ice cream sandwiches and fiber one cookies, and force myself to go to the gym even if my 11:30 miles are now 14 minute miles, and I tell myself next week I'll feel better. And that if I can get through these 3 days without binging, I can get through all days without doing it.

And I ate 2 slices of pizza for lunch on Friday. It was delicious.
