First Day with My Fitness Pal

Hi

I'm a new comer and need all the help I can get from you experts. I would like to lose a total of
45 lbs. My short term goal is to lose 15 lbs by 4th of July. Do you think that would be obtainable?
Please send me a message with any tips you may have for me.

Jules

15lbs in 8 weeks. Doable, but not easy ;-) If you've recently gained the weight it will be easier than if you've had it for years. You'll need a really good exercise routine to make that. One with a lot of cardio to keep your heart rate up. Set your MFP plan to 2lbs a week loss. Then get your walking shoes on.

    Good Luck!

Feel free to add me as a friend.

As an older woman, I found it a challenge to lose weight quickly. What I found was that if I ate to my daily calories and added an hour or more of exercise every day, I was able to consistently lose a pound a week during a goodly portion of my 60-lb loss. As I got thinner, the weight loss slowed down. I also subtracted bread from my diet, as it took up too many of my daily calories and didn't satisfy hunger the way veggies and fruits do. During my weight loss, I was diligent in weighing and measuring food portions. That's my story in a nutshell! Best of luck in your journey. You can do this, and there is a lot of support and advice here in the MFP community -- some saner than others...
