My Story

So I guess I'll just tell you my story. I used to play soccer in middle school and I was in cross country and I was good. In the end of middle school, I got asthma pretty bad and couldn't run. In my sophomore of high school I got Parvo. Those with weak immune systems can get it, it affects the joints. I was hurting all the time and walked with a cane. The doctors said it would last a year. After 4 years, I ended up at the rheumatologist to find out that I have AS. It stands for Ankylosing Spondylitis. It's kind of a mutated arthritis; it's fusing my spine together from the bottom up. After being on Humira for 3 months I started to not have pain in my knees and hips. My back still hurts and there may be another underlying condition there but I'm hopeful for the first time in a long time. I've started walking and watching what I eat. I weigh too much and now I'm trying to get healthy again. It's hard and I'm still in pain every day but I'm doing my best.
