really long days

Today I had to wake up at 4am to do an early work shift. I'm not used to getting up that early, and I had exhausted all my calories by 3:30p. I probably won't go to bed for another 4 hours, and I'm already over my calories from being up so long. Does anyone have any experience or tips for dealing with extremely long days?

I used to have to wake up that early, but I tried to also go to bed really early, like 8 or 8:30pm. I would not eat "breakfast" before work, I'd wait until my first break at work to have a snack, then a meal on my lunch break, small snack at second break, dinner after work, and then small snack before bed. Take healthy food with you so you won't be tempted to eat junk on your breaks.

I eat a small bag of baby carrots. Lots of fiber and takes a while. Also, I cut up an apple and sprinkle w cinnamon. With a handful of walnuts it's a snack that lasts a good while.
