Taking Protein daily to hit protein goals

I'm wondering what others do, I started having a protein shake after a workout, but now have been having one a day, whether I work out or not to help hit my protein goals. I'm a vegetarian, so I find it hard to hit the daily amount. Is it okay to take it like a supplement or it it more for work outs? I've been having it as an afternoon drink or is it only meant for days when you work out? I'm taking Diesel whey protein. One scoop is 27 grams of protein, with only 1.5 carbs.

I've been having a protein shake for breakfast every morning. Not only does it help me hit my protein goals, it keeps me full until lunch time so I don't find myself snacking like I normally would if I just had cereal (for the same number of calories).0

I feel it keeps me full longer as well just wonder if it's a waste of calories on days without exercise, but really if I don't drink it I might get half my protein goal0

It's fine. Although it's typically marketed to gym-goers, protein powder is simply a supplement. If you need more protein in the day, or if you simply like it, go ahead.
That said, here's a (non-comprehensive) list of protein-rich foods that you may find useful:

I do a shake each day. It doesn't just have protein though, lots of vitamins and minerals too. I think of it the same as taking a multivitamin.0

I've been having a protein shake every day for breakfast and a high protein roll at lunch, regardless of whether I work out. its fine for me but I'm vegan so thats pretty much all of my protein unless I include lentils etc at dinner. The roll I have is 27g protein but the wheat makes me bloated, no good when I'm working on abs! Any ideas for what I could have instead of the roll that has that much protein and will keep me full up?0

what roll are you having @louiseg130

Its a high protein linseed roll from lidl bakery, 27g of protein for around 260 kcals. I usually have it with half an avocado or some houmous.0

I keep protein constant whether I train or not. If anything changes in terms of macros, it's my carb intake.
A shake is fine if it helps you reach your protein target for the day, regardless of whether you train or not0
