I miss the travel, the brotherhood, and the honor of wearing the uniform; however, it was not a career choice for me. USN 99-03 MM(N)2 USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70) RP12/05

I miss the camaraderie, travel and the uniform, but I am retired after 25 years in the Air Force. Now I am a DoD civilian and work on a military base so I still feel like a part of it.

4 years in Marine Corps. 1972 to 1976. I miss the shape I was in. Don't miss my friends, because we are still friends. Riding to Sturgis next year with one of them.

I did 4 years active at Camp Lejeune 1993-1997 and then did another 3 in the reserves. I'm currently working as a civilian at Cherry Point.

Its a double edge sword, I miss alot of the things I used to do. I wonder if it was because I was half crazy the other half just plain stupid. Its like volunteering to take point.......

USMC 1997-2006. I miss it every day I wake up. The brotherhood, the structure, the deployments, the training, ALL of it. Unfortunately, after my tour in Iraq, I had to get out. I have no regrets and I would do it all over again! SEMPER FI!

USN - I didn't until my boys joined the Army last year and it brought back memories. I miss some parts, others not so much.
