I do a number of exercises that require you to balance on your tailbone (such as Russian twists) and I've developed a blister or something which now makes just sitting hurt insanely bad! Has anyone else experienced this? What can I do so it doesn't hurt? What can I do to prevent this from happening again?

Try sitting on a bosu ball while doing those kind of exercises that you need your tail bone for example sit on bosu ball and do Russian twists so your tail bone isn't on hard flat ground0

There's that tape that helps prevent blisters, can't remember what it's called at the moment. It's usually used on the feet.0

If you ever fractured your tail bone it could be a build up of fluid to protect the area. Hurts like hell. See the Dr.0

Change exercises...?
There are plenty that don't require sitting on your tail bone0 -

Check here: http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/pilonidal-cyst/basics/definition/con-20025007
If it sounds familiar, you need to talk to a dr, it probably needs to be opened and cleaned.0
