Home Exercises

Hi all,

Apologies if this has been done to death in the past, however - can anyone recommend any exercises to do at home, with little or no equipment?

With work and family life (kids are at some activity or other nearly every night) - can anyone recommend a good workout plan for home, short and sweet. say 30-40 minutes that doesn't require lots of equipment?

Or, alternatively, does anyone use an app for their exercise routine? And what apps are the best?

Thanks in advance.

sworkit app! And check out blogilates. I'm going through some of her 30 day challenges and she's got a workout calendar you can follow too.

I recently got a hula hoop. It's fun and is a decent cardio workout.

skipping rope and you are set to go. I presume you can spare a few measly bucks for a jump rope?

An example workout from the web:
How it works: Do the circuit twice, resting for up to 2 minutes in between

    JUMP ROPE WORKOUT:
    1. 1 minute jump roping with both feet together
    2. 20 lunges (10 per side)
    3. 1 minute alternate-foot jump roping (as if you were running in place)
    4. 10 pushups
    5. 1 minute jump roping with both feet together
    6. 30-second plank
    7. 1 minute alternate-foot jump roping

It's not about the money, more the space in the house :)

Get a doorway pull up bar. About thirty bucks and you can put it in the closet when your not exercising.

All good, plus when my kids were little I would run or walk while they were at ballet or soccer or whatever. I used to run laps around the soccer field so I was close. Sometimes the coach needed an extra hand and I had offered to help and would chase balls or field kicks, etc. THe other parents were just standing around talking and watching.
