So I live in a very hilly neighborhood. Very few flat stretches in my walk. I push a double stroller with a four year old and two year old in it. How would you track that? No heart rate monitor etc available.

    Hi:

I feel your pain, it is difficult to calculate calories burned for cardio activity without a heart rate monitor.
My suggestion is to change your calories target to the TDEE method
    http://iifym.com/tdee-calculator/
Then, you do not have to eat your burned calories back.
Good luck in your healthy journey

Take the most conservative number you feel is reasonably accurate and use that. There are a bunch of pre-builts for walking: easy, moderate, etc. and one of those should fit.

its better to underestimate than overestimate (and then post the "why am I not losing" post).

Definitely underestimate what you think you're burning. I also live in a very hilly area and I jog them (with a jogging stroller) and I put it in as a 4.5 mph walk and usually eat back 50% - 75% of those calories burned. It's working for me fine right now. I hope this helps.
