Hi All

Do I weight my pasta dry or when cooked or does it not matter?

Dry! And yes it matters - you get a lot more from 2 ounces dry than 2 ounces cooked.

Dry. Weighing it cooked is not as accurate because the amount of water it absorbs can vary depending on how long you cook it.

I cook for a family, so I measure my portion after cooking.

I always log my meat raw. Again, the cooking method and how well done you like your meat will vary the weight so using raw is more accurate. Yes, sometimes you might overestimate a little if a lot of fat cooks off but I would rather overestimate my calories than underestimate them.

It's recommended to weigh it raw, but I cook for four, so I just don't have time to cook two meals separately each day. Whatever you do, just make sure you use the correct entry in the database to log it.
