"Just 6 Weeks" or "You Are Your Own Gym"?

Hi, I'm new here. I'm former active duty military and I've decided to get back in shape. I'm about 80lbs overweight. I joined the VA's MOVE program of weekly meetings and education with other veterans and started dieting with MFP two weeks ago (The VA recommends it for veterans). I'm down 7lbs. I've tried to focus on adopting a lot of healthy habits. Proper diet, calorie counting, eating 5-6 times a day, walking a mile 3 times a day, etc. I feel like it's time to incorporate some strength training, despite a bad lower back (20% disability).
Anyway, I caught the app "Just 6 Weeks" for free on the amazon app store, and I see that it has a lot of good reviews. I also read alot of recommendations for the You Are Your Own Gym books/DVDs. I see that they also have an app. I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge of how the two apps compare?
