I need to know if my cravings for sugar will eventually subside...
I can't loose any weigh! I do so well throughout the day and as soon as the sun goes down I start craving sugar...

varduk mine sugar cravings did starting fading two weeks after I went off carbs cold turkey after trying without success to 'taper' off for two months. That was 8 months ago and the sugar cravings is still gone. I thought I was going to die for the first two weeks however. :)

Almonds taste like candy and I can taste the sugar in even celery.

Sometimes one can have an overgrowth of bad bacteria, etc that can cause one to become obese. This kind of stuff DEMANDS sugar too.

Seems like emotionnal eating. Been there, done that. It's awful.
You have to know that the more you give in to sugar temptation, the stronger it becomes.
I (kind of) know the science behind that but would have trouble to explain it in English. (Not my first language. Not even the second for that matter!)
Anyway, there is a physical reaction to sugar that makes you crave more.
Most of the time it's comfort food.
The good news is, if you can find a way to reduce your sugar intake, it loses its power.
But it has to be Mind Over Matter, to start with.
Find a way to keep busy at night. Awesome book, great movie, house cleaning, call a friend, anything that works for you.
The 15 minutes rule works wonders. When the craving comes, if you can wait 15 minutes before you start eating sugar, you have a great chance it will pass.
    Hope this helps!
