I'm low FODMAP and slowly introducing foods back in to see what works and what doesn't. So far I know that cauliflower, lentils, beans and garlic are all problematic. I don't really have any go to recipes because I just adapt the things we already eat or just skip the foods I can't tolerate but I can tell you that garlic infused olive oil is my new best friend! I can still get the garlic flavor without the problems. Go do a search for low FODMAPs on Pinterest and you'll get a whole bunch of stuff. I created a board to hoard recipes on. There are some very helpful sites out there that go beyond just a list of stuff you can or can't eat.0

There's a couple of books around with really good fodmap plans which have been a lifesaver for me. I'm never hungry anymore and my symptoms have reduced considerably.0

I did the whole elimination diet thing and now still eat about 80% FODMAP. You can find information online, but I will caution you that not all lists or fodmap labeled recipes are actually fodmap friendly. Stick to sources you know are credible. If you are working with a dietitian or have been given a list from your doctor, try to use that as your basis...trust that over a random blog fodmap list. Kate Scarlata's site and blog is a good resource. Also, Monash University, has a blog that is helpful in keeping up with new research and test studies. Monash University also has an app you can purchase that will show the fodmap levels and suggested portions for specific foods. I did not purchase it but I have heard a lot of positive about it.
Really, portion size is just as important as what you eat on a fodmap diet. I can eat some fruit and vegetables, but just have to space it out and be very careful not to overdo it. Yesterday, I had two bananas, two servings of strawberries and a bowl of zucchini and carrots (throughout the day - not all at once ), by evening, I was realizing that that I shouldn't have had the second banana.
I have basically adjusted my meals to be fodmap friendly instead of coming up with brand new recipes. Well, with the exception of this carrot souffle: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/carrot-souffle-2/. I was searching for something different to do with carrots. I double the amount of carrots, sub Betty Crocker Rice flour blend and coconut oil for the flour and butter. My fodmap list was ok with sugar so I just cut the amount of sugar, but you probably could use your preferred "ok" sugar substitute. I have fed this several times to company; it always goes over well and they have no idea that they are eating something gluten and dairy free.0 -
