Dumb question about fiber

If I take a fruit or vegdtable and liquify it into a smoothie does it still provide the same amount of fiber? It seems like I would get more fiber from raw celery, say, than celery that has been added to a smoothie.

Fibre is fibre, in whatever form it is consumed.0

What this lady said ^. Green veg is one of the healthiest forms of fibre, and it doesn't matter too much how you process it as long as you're getting enough daily, although raw does tend to be best.0

As long as you make it in a blender, rather than in a juicer. A juicer removes almost all of the fiber.0

This exactly.
There's some misinformation kicking around lately that blending kills the fiber, both soluble and insoluble, of a whole food. But insoluble fiber is just that, insoluble. Oprah's doctor, forget his name (not Oz) puts it really eloquently, but for the life of me I can't recall the name or quote. Basically he says: even the best commercial blender on the market isn't half as efficient as the human digestive system.0 -
I read an article not long ago that stated you loose the fibre when blending into a smoothie0

Even the best blender csnnot masticate food better then the human digestive tract. Our bodies chew and break down fiber but we are still able to receive the benefits.
The blender argument from that article I'd similar to saying that we must swallow fiber filled foods whole without chewing in order to receive the benefits.
