Wheat Thin Popped Chips - Healthy or not?

Have you seen the new Wheat Thin Popped chips? Just wondering other's opinions if these are healthy if eating just 1 portion size. I am a sucker for salty chips and thought this sounded like a healthy alternative. I have attached a link to the nutrition facts

One serving is about the same number of calories as a lot of potato chips. If you can fit a single portion into your daily calorie goal, eat whatever chips you enjoy. The biggest thing will be sticking to a single portion.

If they fit into your calorie and nutrition goals for the day and you feel good eating them, then they sound great. If not, then consider something else.

I eat a small individual portion bag of plain kettle chips from Trader Joes a few times a week. A piece of chocolate or two as well. Keeps me sane. I'd rather eat the real deal than pretending I like a substitute

Yeah a single serve bag of regular chips are pretty close to the same calories. Doritos for example 140 calories per bag. I like the 100 calorie bags of popcorn (I prefer kettle corn but they have butter too). Eat whatever you will enjoy that will keep you from bingeing later due to feeling deprived of what you really want.

If you enjoy the taste of these they may be a little better for you than potato chips. They are not fried, have a good amount of whole grains and while they are around the same calories as a serving of potato chips they are less dense so you may feel like you are "getting more" of the popped chips. If you don't enjoy them and find them satisfying you could just be moderate and eat the fried chips.

Healthy is a relative term. Eat them if you like them and they fit into your calories/macros. I'm a big fan of special k chips because they have a really good taste and I get double the amount of chips for the same amount of calories as regular chips. That's my goal. Most bang for my buck.

Eat what you like, in moderation. Imagine life without treats or goodies?? I eat ice cream, cake whatever I want, in moderation!! Portion control is key. For long term success, you need to know how to eat in the real world, which means treats and snacks.

Healthy is incredibly subjective. Do they fit your nutrition goals? Can you work them into you calories and macros?

I wouldn't consider them anywhere in the ballpark of healthy since they are very processed and quite high in carbs without much redeeming nutritional value. They won't keep you as full as many other things that have the same number of calories.

    To each his/her own.
