weight down, hip measurement up

does this make any sense? wife and i measured me up.. my waist is down about an inch.. but my hips are up an inch? wtf? scale shows almost a 5lb loss since last measurement...

I had the same thing happen to me in my waist and hips about 6 weeks ago, lost weight on the scale but my inches went up. For me, I think it is because I switched up my workout routine and added more strength training and core work than I had been doing before. It looks almost like my fat "shifted" on my body! I have added more running into my routine with the strength training and can already see the inches for my waist and hips decreasing.
Keep up the good work and you will see the measurements decrease in a few weeks.0 -

Sounds like your body is adjusting. Just keep doing what you're doing and it will come. WTG on the 5 pounds!0 -
Measuring with a tape measure is never an exact science. If you hold it in a slightly different place you might see a different number.0
