Resetting Your Goals and Getting Hung Up on the Past!

When advising people about finances, I used to always say "I don't care how much you bought the stocks (or house or whatever) for. The only thing that matters is how you are going to improve your lot from this point onwards."
It's the same with weight and fitness. You gained 2 kilos, so what! That's 2 kg more that we have to move, so let's get over it. You could do 100 meters in 13 seconds in college? So what! You drive to Dunkin Donuts now. You didn't buy Apple stocks ten years ago? So what. Look for the right stock for you now.
Looking back I can hardly believe that I had such disparate attitudes in these two speheres.
