Hello MFP peeps!
As I come up on my 1000th logging day on MFP I thought it would be interesting to look back on all the diets I have done along the way. When I first started I just ate 1200 calories and exercised and did not lose a thing. I got frustrated and started eating more and gained. I started New Rules of Lifting for Women and lifted heavy and followed the calorie guide and gained. I started IF and lost a little but would gain on other days. I stayed in the forums and watched what people said and even though everyone kept saying eat at a deficit it never worked for me. I kept thinking there must be something wrong with me because I stalk the people who have lost lots of weight and they all say the same thing.
Let me tell you I have learned that everyone is DIFFERENT. I am a prime example of this. All of those people who tell you what you are doing is wrong only know what is wrong for them. The only person who knows what is going to work for you is you. It took me up until March of 2014 to figure that out!!! After losing and gaining the same amount of weight I finally found something that worked and that was Adkins. I finally started dropping some real weight. I did p90x3 as well so that helped. When I stopped losing I decided to do Whole30 and lost 9lbs. Mind you during 30 day period I went back to carbs in the form of veggies and fruits. I lost 9 lbs in those 30days and felt great. From there I started LCHF which was way easy for me.....who doesn't love heavy whipping cream in their coffee??? lol!!!! So then I decided to try 21 day fix extreme. Talk about an eye opener wow, and NOT what you think. Portion control is what lots of people need to learn but for me it took awhile to eat enough food! Oh and to get rid of the heavy whipping cream lol. During that 21days I lost 6lbs but gained so much more knowledge of food and me. Right now I am carb cycling and still learning about me but the bottom line is it has taken forever!!!!
I think everyone just needs to learn what their body needs and if that means changing it up than do it. The rule of thumb was I stayed on whatever I was doing for at least 30 days. I think that was enough time for me to know if it was working or not. Also I lift heavy 3 days a week and do cardio 2 or 3 days. I think if you want something bad enough you can do it!!! I wish everyone luck on this crazy, lovely journey and I pray that you find your own path!!!!
Thanks for reading my novel and happy friday!!!!
