What is your Motto?

The first week or so of changing my eating and exercise habits was rough. I quickly decided that I needed a strong motto to keep me going.

I can, and I will.

When I want to stop on the elliptical after only 5 minutes, I start repeating it in my head. When I want to go home instead of doing 10 more reps, I will chant it under my breath. When I'm stressed out, and reaching for a bag of junk, it gives me enough pause to really evaluate what I'm doing (most times, chocolate has yet to surrender to my motto).

Do you have a motto or phrase that you keep in the back of your mind to motivate you when it gets tough?

Don't put off until tomorrow that which you can do today.

It was always "I'll start tomorrow" until I finally just did it.

One I heard the other day actually, "Self improvement is a lengthy journey, and one in which it's important to never reach the destination." Something alone those lines, anyway.

And another I read from someone on here a couple of days ago, "Exercise is one thing you never regret doing."

    It's obligation, not motivation.

"Be stubborn about your goals and flexible about your methods" right now rings most true. With injuries and other health issues causing some problems I've had to be a little more flexible with how I accomplish my goals.

My motto: Practice a little patience. I have to remind myself to be patient, the weight isn't going to come off as fast as I would like.

I've come to love bike riding (Bicycle). Really enjoy it. So, without using the cruder word: Just friggin' ride. Or... Enjoy the friggin' ride. :D

    Cheers,

I don't do my work for any kind of group in particular, except for hobos, who just plain kick *kitten* and light up my life.

I have a motto that I initially used when I started running but now has carried over to the rest of my life: "Never quit in the first mile"
After you get the ball rolling in a workout or on a tough task, it is never as bad as you thought.

"We all have our paths to follow, if we don't like them, it's up to us to step onto the grass"

"If someone steps on your toes, Break their foot"

What can I say, I'm either a sage, a psychotic, or full of myself. It's really hard to say or judge.
