hi all, I recently had a baby, she will be 3 months in June, I began hardcore working out about two weeks ago after my 6 week check up. Before that I was really just focusing on what I ate and doing some Jillian Michael's to begin toning. I have been doing meal prep for about a month with my husband, I think I align with my macros pretty well for the most part.. Working out I love but it's hard to find time.. I do it at night when both kids are asleep.. I began doing Hiit, my husband said its the best exercise for fat loss, and I do want to lose fat. I have been running at 6mph and resting at 3mph. I try to do everyday but I began feeling very faint and tired afterwards, last night I almost threw up after my shower, had to eat a snack and drink more water because I was so light headed.. Am I doing something wrong, why is it that I managed to gain weight after weighing in at 166 start? Any advice I would greatly appreciate!

Because weight loss isn't linear. There will always be days and weeks where you gain for various reasons. Since you've just begun working out, that is a likely culprit as your muscles will be holding onto water to repair themselves.
Are you breastfeeding? It's possible you need to eat more to balance out what you're burning through exercise and feeding your daughter.0 -
Are you breastfeeding? Some women find it harder to lose weight when breastfeeding. Other than that I am going to ask what everyone asks...how much are you eating? It's not just about macros but calories out has to be greater than calories in in order to lose weight. Do you weigh your food?0

I am not bees feeding, I only breastfed for her first month. I find myself eating between 800-1000 calories daily.. Sometimes I force myself to eat cause I feel like it's not enough. I measure out 4-5oz of protein (chicken, fish, steak) and about 100 grams of veggies (broccoli, carrots, asparagus). This isn't my own meal plan, I've kinda just fallen into eating what my husband does cause he's been doing it for over a year.. He eats additional carbs tho, I stay away from them other than the morning0

Eat more...at least your calorie goal plus half of your exercise calories. Feeling faint is definitely a sign you aren't eating enough to fuel your body. And unless you have a medical reason to watch them, there's nothing wrong with carbs.0

I do low carb and manage to hit 1450 calories a day, sometimes more if I'm extra hungry. If you're watching carbs, then eat more fat and protein. Cook your veggies in butter or coconut oil or bacon grease. Add cheese if you like that. Cook your chicken in butter even! It's yummy. Adding more fat will ensure you reach an adequate calorie goal.0

Great thank you! I'll be upping my caloric intake and see where that brings me to0
