i would like to start running but I've never had any luck. I get winded very easily. Any ideas on how to overcome this?

Maybe start slower? Check out the Couch to 5k on Runners World. The schedule will ease you into running. I want to run too, but I know it will do the same. My plan is to do some walking, then a little walk/jog until i can transition over to more of a jog/run.

I'd suggest C25K, as well. I installed a free app and just did what it told me. Be sure to pace yourself, likely a pace that's slower than the one you're using now.

Use a heart rate monitor. It will help identify a comfortable pace.

I used the C25K when I started out, just printed the program and took it with me. I performed it as written but if there was a time I didn't feel comfortable moving on to the next week, I just repeated it. That was 3 years ago....and I'm still running. :0)

For your jog intervals try a pace that is slow enough so that you can jog for the entire interval, if you start out too fast just slow down a bit but keep "jogging." It was really hard for me at first but it's a great program to build a base safely.
