How tall are you? What do you weigh currently? Without factoring in formal exercise, what's your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE)? A good place to calculate that is here (http://iifym.com/tdee-calculator/)

The general advice I've seen is that shooting for a deficit of 2 pounds per week (7000 calories per week, since a pound of fat contains 3500 calories of energy) is the maximum you want to go for. However, I've also seen advice that you want to gauge your calorie deficit as a proportion of your maintainence calories (see http://www.acaloriecounter.com/diet/calorie-deficit-to-lose-weight/), with 20% being around what's considered moderately aggressive.

I'm starting to think that setting one's caloric deficit as a proportion of one's TDEE is the best way to go.

It may be your macros. I find that if I don't get adequate protein and fat I'm hungry no matter how many calories I eat. 30/30/40 is pretty popular and a good starting point but I always suggest to find what works for you since everyone is different and has different goals.

2000 is low for a bloke unless you are not overly tall...upping protein and fat satiates hunger alot.
