Is the toilet that dirty, just use Toilet duck.
This doesn't sound pleasant or healthy. Try lemon juice and water.

For some creepy reason, this reminds me of this: http://abcnews.go.com/Health/nigerian-ebola-hoax-results-deaths/story?id=25842191

No, thanks.
I live in Nigeria, that was not a normal Nigerian that posted the hoax on social media. The gir had serious problems and wanted to cause a scene so she could be well known. She was given a warning not to do it gagain.Traditionally to ward off evil a mother will give her child a bowl of salt and water to bathe in. They will sprinkle some around the compound and drink the remainder. The salt content is very small. My mother in law did it to me when I was pregnant.
Nigerians are not stupid. Salt is cleansing and during the true Ebola crisis even I bathe with warm water and salt. I did the same with my four children. Any person that actually listened to the advise from that sick idiot did so probably because they didn't want to go through what we all went through when Ebola was here.
They don't drink tons of salt every day in water. They don't joke with their health.
Anyone that would take lots of water and salt needs to seek medical help before they do serious damage to their internal organs. It is not advisable to take plenty salt in your diet let alone in your water. Doing so is playing with death.0 -

I live in Nigeria and trust me Ebola was not a hoax. I lived through the forehead scans everywhere and saw a woman's body at the side of the road. Anyway what has that got to do with salt flush!!
Well, DUH, I know Ebola was not a hoax! I work in global health, my co-workers were in Nigeria and other countries at the time of the outbreak. If you had read the link, then you'd know that I was referring to the the salt water flush (treatment) somebody spread was a hoax (it started as a joke but quickly gained momentum, and people were so scared they started to believe and try it). And I also said that it *reminded* me of it, because the salt water flush for dieting is also BS that nobody needs to try and that could potentially be dangerous. That's all.0 -
Deleted (sorry, double-posted).0

I am thinking of incorporating a Rum flush into my regime if any one cares to join me0

It sounds like what my husband had to do before his colonoscopy... some awful drink (I think it was water and baking soda?) that made him poop all day. He was miserable.0

No worries And I never said that Nigerians are stupid. If I thought that, I would probably not work in the field of global health/international development. But it started as a joke from somebody to a friend, via messenger (we have screenshots at work, we actually traced the whole thing), and somebody picked it up ... well, it gained momentum from there. Anyway, that's all beside the point. Salt water just to detox your body is a bad idea, to get back to the original topic.0 -

Years ago (when I didn't need know any better) I tried the lemonade diet and you are supposed to do the salt water flush every morning. Made me puke and poop. It wasn't fun or effective for weight loss, unless you count the fact that if you eat before doing it you will lose your breakfast. You don't lose weight by pooping. Your fat cells release triglyceride stores when you're losing weight, which you can't force to occur by using laxitives.
Also, a girl I used to work with did it too and she ended up having severe edema where her legs and feet swelled up to double the size of what they normally were. She had to go to the emergency room. They said it was from the excess salt.0 -

I'm off to do my nightly regime, a nice cold glass of water, without salt in case you were wondering, then off to bed cos its almost 1am. Wake up and get a fresh cold glass of water, no salt again first thing in the morning.0
