Well I would have to say that after almost 300 days on here, my motivation has had ebbs and flows. I find that seeing the scale drop a pound or two per week is motivation. Also, keep measurements because sometimes the scale just stays where it is and you can take measurements to see those go down. I would also suggest taking a picture so you can take another one in a month or so to see some difference. I didn't take a picture until I was about a month in, and I had lost about eight pounds already. Other things that motivate me is finding new recipes to try that are low calorie (I like to cook when I have time). And the weather motivates me to get outside and ride my recumbent trike. The winter months are hard because the workouts stay inside. As far as the calories and weighing, etc- that can get tiresome after a while, but I think it just becomes a routine and you just do it. Good luck to you. I have found that the people on here who stay and who are the most successful have one thing in common, they just don't give up.

Also to add- I have done this and have seen others as well- reward yourself for small goals met- a manicure, new clothes, a massage, etc!

I would say I agree with dramaqueen45 on the taking measurements and photo. Set small goals for yourself. Work on achieving those. Every choice you are making in the direction you want to head with healthier eating and exercise is a step forward. Example I set a 3 day 30 minute workout last week and achieved it. It felt great and motivated me to continue this week. Plus I love the bar graphs on here. I can look back a year ago and see progress with exercise and measurements. I also agree - don't give up.

I love all the reports MFP has. Stats are lovely.

Plus, having a step-counter is fun for me. I like to see those stats. Graphs are pretty! :)

Welcome, good luck, and have fun!

I rely on the fitbit one for steps and miles. It is fun to see the graphs.I think we all need motivation at times because we wouldn't try to be losing weight if we didn't.
