I am a type I diabetic with a pump that wants to gain weight. It's tough because I don't need lots of carbs. I can cancel some out, but not too many without inflating my blood sugar. When the sugars are up, my weight goes down. Any suggestions?

As a nurse I can tell you that this is a changing situation, I often work with those diagnosed with diabetes and its just a challenge in living a daily lifestyle in general let alone gaining weight. You should absolutely get connected with a professional dietician to help you with your goals but bottom line is to gain muscle you need to consume excess calories and that can from fat, protein, and carbs. The one advice I can suggest is to avoid fast acting carbs for the most part.0
