i know everyone says it's okay every once in a while to have a cookie or ice cream or something, but will it slow down my metabolism if i don't eat sweets at all? also, every time i do eat a single cookie, i feel extremely guilty afterwards. any thoughts?

Eating doesn't affect metabolism. I eat sweets in moderation every day and have lost 44 pounds and have been maintaining for over a year.

For weight loss, all you have to do is eat at a calorie deficit.

Why would eating sweets speed up your metabolism? I don't get it.

Why do you ask? My diary is open.

By the way, I'm not the original poster, and is that whom you meant to respond to?

Food doesn't have any affect on metabolism. Exercise increases your TDEE (in other words, when you exercise you can eat more).

I know, what I'm saying is that I don't understand why the OP would think that.
