calorie intake

I stay well within my calorie allowance for the day. I was just wondering if this will make me lose weight, as it says my fat percentage for daily intake is slightly high? Any help?

As long as you're eating less than you burn, that's all that matters to weight loss0

I never understand less than i burn. I burned 350 calories just, but ivr only eaten 800 or so calories all day...0

You burn well more than 350 calories just going about your life (work, school, errands, socializing, and basic bodily functions). The goal MFP gives you is already calculated at a deficit, and you should be aiming to hit that number.0

It means i ate within my daily calorie limit. It says I am meant to eat 1970 calories a day in order to lose 1 to 2lb a week. Today i ate just over 800 calories as i didnt have time to eat properly. But then my fat percentage is slightly high due to the type of food like tinned mackeral and bacon medallions. So I asked the question.0

Eat now. 800 calories is not good, especially for a male. And don't worry about your macro (carbs/fat/protein) percentages right now...get your logging and calorie intake down first, then determine how you want to hit your numbers on that.0 -
I know its not smart, its a one off since starting. But other days ive eaten just over 1500cal a day. Been a busy Sunday for me today, so not really had the time to eat. But just wanted to be sure if the fat percentage ive eaten could effect weight loss, just wanted others to share their results with the same.0

My intake for yesterday was 1500-1600cal. And i was full, i aint just going to eat because this app tells me I have to eat 1970cal a day. And because i've trained, its 23.42 on the evening and im in bed. So I don't see why i have to eat now, especially when i aint hungry.0

Also, due to an injury most of day to day is very low activity and has been like that for a while. So i would like to not over eat like i did before which made me put weight on in the first place also due to not being that active.0

Stop under eating you will slow your metabolism to the point where you will not lose an ounce.

Going over on your macros will not effect your weight loss but you need to hit your target calories or at least get close to them.
MFP has calculate your deficit for weight loss in the1970 it has given you. Training burns more calories and MFP adds them to your target. You can eat them back or you can eat some of them back that is up to you.
At the moment the only macro that may effect the weight on the scale is sodium as it can cause water retention so drink plenty of water to flush the sodium. The other macros you can adjust later once you are comfortable with hitting your calorie target.

Why are you turning a simple question into a disagreement. I will not eat just because I have extra calories left to consume throughout the day. I will do what I like, and eat what I like and when I am actually hungry. If you dont like that then dont comment, kinda annoying me tbh.0

Read before commenting. I was encouraging him to hit his calorie goal or at least get close to it. Which is set I believe at 1970 so if he comes close to that each day he wont be eating 800.

You really should be eating the amount of calories MFP gives you each day. 1500 is the minimum recommendation for men to receive adequate nutrition. You'll lose on that amount, of course, but a larger deficit can lead to muscle loss along with/instead of fat.0

Best to ignore it and move on. Some people on here are a little hard to deal with.
As to your original question, if you eat less, you will lose more weight, but the bigger the deficit the more likely the body will have to get energy from somewhere other than your fat. A very low calorie day once in a while is probably okay. For weight loss, it doesn't really matter what the fat percentage is, as long as you eat fewer calories than you burn through exercise and just being alive, you will lose weight.0
