Hello!

I'm a bit stuck - I don't know what to eat!

I have all sorts in the house - chicken breasts, ingredients for a noodle stir fry, cooked turkey, vegetables, beans etc. however don't know what to eat as I have badminton this evening 6:30-9:30. I feel eating before is too early and after is too late.

What should I do?

There's no right answer. Pick one...

I would eat before but that's because I eat supper at 6:00p religiously anyways.

I would eat a small-ish dinner at 5:30, then a substantial snack once I'm home.

I often work out in the evenings. Two evening a week I go to the gym between 6.30 and 8.30. I eat a light dinner and a back coffee an hour and half before, so soon as I get in from work. This is usually some kind of protein and vegetables, such as fish and green veg, omelette and salad. I steer clear of anything carby that will fill me up too much and make me bloat, which makes me feel sick during exercise. I then have a banana and a protein bar straight after my workout. Days I go to the gym earlier, 2 days I go at half 5, and then I have the banana and a black coffee about an hour before, a protein bar straight after, and then a balanced meal including protein, card and veg. This has been working out fine for me, and have lost 56lbs so far.

Eat when you're hungry -- if you're hungry before then eat before, maybe saving calories for a small snack after. If you're not hungry before badminton then eat after. No big deal!
