Traveling for Work - Aboard a Ship

Hi Team,
I've seen some posts asking for suggestions for keeping on track during work travel. But what if work involves travel aboard a ship? I tend to have trouble not with poor food choices, just over-eating generally. Can anyone provide suggestions for keeping on track when essentially eating cafeteria-style aboard a ship? I've thought about taking a measuring cup (but that might be a little weird) any and all suggestions welcome. Thanks!

Practice eye-balling food amounts before you leave so that you are good at what a cup is. :) Generally, these things are high calorie -- anything breaded, fried, loaded with cheese, sitting in sauce. Look for things that are steamed, baked, broiled, frilled. Veggies are good.

Fill your plate with vegetables first. Preferably, the green kind. Then add a little meat. Remember that if it is shiny, it probably has oil or sugar on it.

I used to work on cruise ships. Fill up on the salad and fruit and don't go back for seconds. I know it is hard working somewhere where food is out all the time.

Just don't fill your plate. Fill half the plate. Eat that before going back for more.
