Taking a break

Okay so I have been on my weight loss journey for 8 months and have successfully lost 55 pounds so far but I have com ebb to discover over the last month or so that I have lost all of my motivation to continue. Now I am thinking of taking a short break and go to maintenance for the next month or so before getting back to basics. I am not talking about going back to what I did before but just not being as stricken as I was when I started. I'm just afraid that if I try to keep going with the way I feel that I am going to completely off of the wagon. Has anyone else gone through something like this.

Diet breaks are great. Especially after 8 months. You might not need a full month of one either, maybe even two weeks. I would still track food and stay at maintenance. I've taken them before and they are lovely. Sometimes I even get a little whoosh and lose a couple pounds I had been waiting on.

That's what I was thinking. Sometimes not stressing about weightloss makes it happen easier.

Yeah that's what I was kind in thinking(or just hoping) might happen. Almost like that maybe my body will basically hit reset and that when I start again I will start losing a little faster again. Then again I like wishful thinking. Lol

I won't comment on that because I'm unsure of the science behind it. Some people say this is true for them.

If anything, it's just a nice break for the mind and body. @vismal has a great video on diet breaks, it prompted me to take one.
