I think everybody who's saying either "eat it" or "do not eat it" are wrong for the simple fact that we don't know you. Everybody is different, each organism is different, and you need to listen to your own body. I'm the kind of person who cannot have a small amount of ice cream like a decent person when I'm craving it, I HAVE to eat a whole pint, so I stay away from it even though I love it, I go for healthier alternatives like homemade yogurt and fruits popsicles. But then again, I know people who can have a little bit of whatever it is they are craving and they will be satisfied and in peace. What kind of person are you? Nobody can tell you what to do, you need to find what works best for YOU. Also, if smelling the banana bread in the oven is a torture for you, leave the apartment and get busy with something! If your roommate is not supportive, then work the environment in your favor.
