It was cool for me too bc as a Jew we'd always go out and eat Chinese food and watch movies and have everything to ourselves basically.

One memory that sticks out is when I was about 9 or 10 I got a new (used) bicycle with a banana seat and chopper handle bars. I had some sweet shades (70s style of course) and was driving around doing wheelies & stuff, pretending I was Evil Knievel.

The week before my birthday (I forget which year), my favorite childhood author came to a local library to promote his latest addition to my favorite series. I was, unfortunately, sick (not contagious in any way) at the time, but was excused from bedrest long enough to attend, provided I lie down on a blanket on the lawn the whole time (except while waiting in line for book signing), which many were doing anyway. Then, at the end, I totally forgot about my problem when said author cleared the crowd and approached ME to make small talk and discuss aforementioned series (though I think my folks begged for that).

Riding a red wagon down a hill with my brother behind me and crashing into a barn. I lost my front two teeth on the barn wall. He lost his front two teeth in the back of my head.

Mine were adult teeth so I now have veneers (which I lost again a few years later). My brother's were baby teeth and took over a year for them to grow back.... We were two Alabama kids with our front teeth missing. Go figure.
