Knee support?

I think I may have slightly pulled a ligament, maybe, in my knee last week. It doesn't hurt during everyday activity but during exercise, mostly the squats and things that require me to bend it makes It get a sudden pain shoot through it. It almost feels as though it needs to crack. Would wearing a support bandage help with this? Is so, which do you recommend?

Where in your knee do you feel discomfort? When I had a trainer he wanted me to get it checked out. I ended up spraining my knee near my meniscus. I use a brace I got at the grocery store when I run or do squats/lunges.

I had the same thing. Had excruciating pain when I kneeled on it. Went to the chiropractor and my tibia had rotated. Took a few sessions to get it back and when it went back into place I heard a LOUD pop. Then had relief. Mine started with hiking down hill. I wear a light support called Copper Fit. I feel a little more support when I wear it, but getting the knee back in place was necessary. I'm not a doctor, so take it for what it's worth.

i wear very tight knee sleeves when i squat. but if you injured it last week, let it heal and rehab it slowly.

Knees are far too complex to self-diagnose. Could be ligament, cartilege, bursitis etc....

Recently thought I'd torn the one remaining cartilege in my wonky left knee and it turned out to be fat pad impingement (yay!).

Would suggest if rest and avoidance of what is hurting it doesn't work get a proper diagnosis. I use an injury specific knee brace (lost the PCL) and it's great but I don't have a high regard for general purpose supports.

It could be anything, and you should have it checked out. I had the exact same pain you described, turned out to be my IT band. Put me completely off running for a month. 6 weeks of intense physical therapy later, I ran a half marathon. I actually still see my PT once a week for maintenance, until after my Half Ironman in June. :)
