12 lbs down...

... in about a week. I suspect my scale lies to me. If it's not a lie, then I'll chalk it up to water-weight / beginner's luck. I seriously doubt 12 lbs a week is sustainable for me.

I could use more friends here. It's difficult to remember to log what I eat and what little exercise I do. But reading the posts on this site has made me more aware of what I'm eating, and made me recognize (at least some of the time) when I'm comfort-eating as opposed to eating because I'm hungry.

Are you weighing yourself on a hard surface? My scale reads a lot less if I weigh myself on carpet. It is possible to lose that much in the earlier weeks if your starting weight is very high and you drastically change the diet. It will slowly taper down to a smaller amount of lbs per week.

Feel free to add me :)

if you have loads to lose then yes its possible, but it is going to be mostly water weight, if you think about it, to lose 1lb = 3500 cals, its not likely you were in deficit by 42000 calories in one week...enjoy that 'whoosh' of weight loss at the beginning but you'll be looking for a 2lb weight loss per week on average, again depending on how much you need to lose. Wishing you success on your journey
