Struggling with weight

hello. I am Sonia. I have had a baby recently 2nd child. In February 2015 I delivered. Since then I struggling with my weight I am 180 lbs where as I use to be 155lbs. I am a nursing mom as well. Can someone help me as to how many calories can I take during this time period so that I can also lose weight? Normally if a person is on diet 1200 calories are recommended then how much for a nursing mom? So that I can also lose weight ?

General recommendation for a nursing mom is 1800 calories minimum to maintain milk supply.0

Please don't go on a 1200 calorie diet while breastfeeding. You need on average an extra 500 calories a day while nursing. 1200 calories will just feel like you are starving. Your energy will be non existent, you hair and skin will suffer and eventually your milk supply will decrease. I weight less than you and at 5'5 I need 2000 calories to happily breast feed and take care of my 6 month old. Usually though I eat 2000-2300 calories a day and I am not gaining weight. I would suggest getting in some exercise and eating nutrient dense foods. Easier said than done, but it took 9 months to gain the weight, it's going to take more than 3 months to lose it all.0 -
Set your goal to a pound a week (which should be more than 1200 because you don't have much to lose), then add in 500 calories for breastfeeding0
