I have been using MFP for about a month and I am impressed. Great tool. That said, I am not some spring chicken in the realm of fitness or exercise. Knowledge is one thing while action is another. My lack of action has cost me, dearly. At 5'9", last month I was sitting at 235 with a 44" waist and size 38 relaxed fit jeans that were not what I would call relaxed. Not to mince words I should weight about 170 lbs. This is definitely in the obese realm and pushing all sorts of medical conditions my way with technical terms I cannot begin to spell.

Anyway, I picked up a copy of Able James new book The Wild Diet. AKA @fatburningman on Twitter and successful fitness author with a wicked podcast. His book pokes a lot of holes in what I understood to be healthy habits, reaffirms some things I already knew and had a lot to teach.

I am not here to sell the Wild Diet, but I am doing it. I decided to post a blog about my journey and working on Day 3 of 40 right now. I am not here to say I will stop at Day 40. I plan on making this a life change not a crash course. However, Able makes a statement of losing 20 lbs in 40 days. Which is a pretty bold claim. OK, lets put the disclaimer up to 20 pounds in 40 days.

On a personal note, I have already lost 6 pounds in my first 30 days of getting back into a healthy regimen, along with 2" off my waist, 2" off my hips and 1" off my chest. I am already at Week 5 of my C25K program too. So I am not starting his diet from a position of standing still. I am starting his diet from a position of this is way out in left field but tired of the rehash of old trends called new not working. I have also made my diary public, so you can see what I am eating and my exercise.

Disclaimer: I am using MapMyWalk to log my walk/runs and using ZombieRunGames Zombie 25K program (which is a lot of fun). I also have a Pivotal Living band, because I felt like tossing $12 into the ring was little more than a heavy meal out at lunch.
