Trying to find a group with similar disabilities and support needs.

I originally come from the UK, but a crazy Texan with insufficient stress in his life decided to import some 11 years ago. Sadly he died of a brain tumor in 2012 and I have since moved a little further north to Arkansas.

I also wanted to ask if anyone has found a support group on here for people with very limited mobility, not to mention advancing years, although I am not Methuselah (59 almost!). I have way too many illnesses to list but those which limit my movement and limit the effort which I can put into movement are severe arthritis, sciatica (both hips), 14 compressed vertebrae, fibromyalgia, heart disease, BP and currently both rotor cuffs are torn!

I have lost over 30 pounds with diet alone in just over 3 months, not too shabby but then I had been bed bound for almost a year off and on and had 100 plus pounds to lose!

I have a Garmin to encourage me to try and make 1500 steps or more if I can in a day, I walk using a cane but cannot stand or sit for more than 10 minutes at most. If I get a good head of steam up I can walk at about an eighth of a mile an hour! Some days I only get to 500 steps but that's more than zero and in my book that works for me. I also have a swimming pool I can get into whenever I can walk out to it, but sadly I tore my right rotor cuff last autumn and my left one around Christmas, so it isn't just the walk out there right now, but I have managed a few minutes here and there holding a ball so I didn't have to hurt my shoulders too much.

I'm not whining about my lot in life, actually I am extraordinarily happy. I have met another wonderful man who loves me every bit as much as I love him; we met just over two years ago when we both had been married a few times, had our children and given up on ever having what everyone else seemed to have, thought it was a myth even ..... true happiness and true love.

Frankly, I am just trying to find a group that has other members who need the same type of support and hurrahs as I do.
