hi! I've been using myfitnesspal for a few months now! At first it was going great! I lost 20lbs pretty quickly, but then my weight loss stopped. I figured I needed to change-up my workouts. So I started taking classes at the Y, instead of just doing the cardio I had been doing. So now I do body pump, body sculpt(both weights), and cardio both in the gym and at the track. But I have no idea how to log my classes.

I have no idea how many calories they might burn. And I'm not sure how many reps I do during the class(and I'm not sure I want to know!), and there's not enough time to write it down.

But my weight is still stuck, occasionally going up a pound, then going back down. I'm not sure if it's that I'm not eating enough because I have no clue how many calories I'm burning!

Get a heart rate monitor to help with tracking; very accurate for cardio, though not as much for weights.

    Also, use this:

Are you still trying to lose? If you are, you're possibly eating more than you think you are or not burning as much as you think you are. You wouldn't be gaining/maintaining if you weren't eating enough though.

OP sound like me so 'I am going to follow this thread as I seem to be suck myself. I did get a nice stash of work out dvd's this past weekend to change up my work outs but logging and knowing how many calories I burn I am lost too.. I seem to still be a little confused as to the net and intakes. I know our bodies need so many calories just to "function" each day and then we want to burn off "some" too, I guess I still have a lot to learn :)

Trial, error, and patience. You'll learn a lot.

So for myself I am 5'9" and currently 195 I have been tittering between a few pounds up and down. I have dropped 12 that have stayed off but I only see a pound or 2 come off here or there now, but it is frustrating watching my weight at a stand still. MFP goals are 2070 per day and Calories Burned / Week 1790 Calories. I log in my foo and fall below the calories each day. Some days I do go over that's because I have a few Mikes hard lemonade ... :) ( heard they have a light version so I will be looking into that!

I would log them as circuit training.

I log those types of classes as calisthenics. There are two options in the DB for light effort and vigorous effort I believe. I take a body sculpting class and definitely log it as light effort. I generally record about 150 calories for 55 minutes (200 if it's really taxing class).
