Anyone planning on doing MURPH on Monday?

Has anyone completed the work out before? Thoughts? What breakdown did you use for sets?

Also did anyone do any pre murph prep? Like take a rest day before etc?

My thought is break them into 20 rounds of 5 10 15??

For anyone not familiar the MURPH is a Crossfit workout in honor of LT Mike Murphy consists of

1 mile run
100 pullups
200 pushups
300 squats
1 mile run

Negative. I will not be doing MURPH.

My Brother Rat Sean- may he rest in peace- has his own WOD dedicated to him- I'll be doing that one instead.

No, I'm not a crossfitter, but I'm going to be traveling and plan to hike Old Rag Mountain in Shenandoah National Park.

I'm in for maybe a half-Murph! I've been at crossfit for 5 months now but the idea of Murph terrifies me, so I will aim for a half the way you are breaking it down (I'll do 10 rounds of 5 10 15) and see if maybe I can continue on. Good luck to us all!

JoRocka, I'm sorry about your brother. What is the WOD dedicated to him? I bet it's kick - *kitten*

I'm not a crossfitter but I got an invite. Cool idea. I like how they are running the 1 mile to the next crossfit gym, doing the workout, and running back to the home gym.

I completed the hike, took about 5 hours including all stopping and such. There is a challenging rock scramble, but the most tense moment was when I got into an argument with a rattlesnake. I won, btw (meaning it left without biting me, though it rattled like it would).

I am not a crossfitter but this is the 2nd year I have completed Murph. Last year I finished in 1:02 and this year I cut 5 minutes off and finished it in 57 minutes. I wore my vest with 20lbs and partitioned it in to 10 rounds. (10 pullups, 20 pushups and 30 squats) My first mile was just over 8 minutes and I expected my 2nd mile to be much slower but pushed it to just over 9 minutes. I hope to improve on it next year on my 40th bday.
