I am 34 years old and feel like a teenager. Doesn't sound bad, right? Well it is because I'm suffering with adult acne that came on suddenly within the last two years and I have no idea why or how to get rid of it. I previously used Proactiv, but felt like it eventually stopped working. I also tried Aubrey Organics twice but neither product worked for my skin and made matters worse. The crazy thing is that my skin was perfect two years ago except for the occasional "hormonal" breakout. Now my entire chin area is covered and won't go away! I've even tried washing with baking soda, honey, etc. I want to go back to wearing no makeup and looking beautiful. I feel like crying because it's so embarassing and have a time or two. What should I do?!? Help!

i also began to get major acne at my highest weight. I have since poured on the water and added to my tracker 'sugar'. I now skip my morning OJ and my daily fibre1 bar, cause with either I was over on sugar. I'm also limiting breads due to sugar and sodium. I'm telling you with 10-12 cups of water per day, less sugar and being more active, my skin is clear as can be, with just maybe one tiny zit at that time of the month. I hope yours cleared. I did'nt have an acne problem as a teen so i know nothing of the products.

It might be Rosacea and just look like acne. I use Eucerin Redness Relief wash and lotion and Merlot moisturizer in the morning and a Scrubbing wash (Neutrogena or Oil of Olay) is what I use and Metronidazole gel (prescription) and Merlot night cream at night. My skin is dry so I use a lot of moisturizer.

My face has also cleared up since starting this program. I drink about 10 cups of water a day and watch the sugar. As far as products go, I use Clean and Clear Persa Gel 10 and it works really well. It's so important not to touch your face too. I was always told that but never took it seriously until I realized that my breakouts were exactly where I rest my chin/cheek on my hands. Good luck!

I'd suggest seeing a dermatologist. I sounds like you need something stronger than over the counter remedies. I've been dealing with acne for quite a while and the best solution is prescription topical creams. Sometimes the over the counter stuff just isn't strong enough, like for me. I use two different topical gels and an antibiotic when it's bad to control mine.On top of washing my face with skin-sensitive wash and removing makeup at night.

I second 00trayn's suggestion... I spent a lot of time trying and having no luck with "natural" remedies and eventually I switched to a mildly medicated treatment gel. (I'd rather not use medication, but it's better than dealing with acne now... I had perfect skin as a teenager, too, and now it's gone. Sad.) I still get the occasional really bad breakout but it's less frequent and the red spots are starting to disappear.

    Good luck!!

Thanks! I never added the "sugar tracker" because I heard it can be inaccurate. How should I track sugar when there's sugar in fresh fruits, etc? I have been very strict with my sugar intake, however I still need my occassional fix and these days that happens to be a chewy granola bar. I also drink coffee and eat power bars for breakfast most days. I wondered if the caffeine and sugar in power bars could be a contributing factor? I guess I feel like it could be so many things that I don't know what to do anymore. I hate to give up everything I enjoy, but will if I have to. As a teenager I rarely had acne and never as an adult until two years ago. I guess that would be around the time I started gaining weight (like you mentioned). Guess I should just wait and see, but I was hoping to find some help since it never seems to clear up and, when it starts to get better, it comes back all over again. My doctor wants to put me on the pill, but I've never taken the pill and don't like to be on anything. I'm scared of the side effects. Thanks for your help!
