Wondering if anyone could help, i am prone to tibial stress fractures caused from running. Is there any alternative exercises out there to running other than the 'Anti-Gravity Treadmill' which is also another great invention.

Many thanks

Swimming is a great and exhaustive low-impact sport.

Swimming is one of the best exercises out there. It combines cardio and strength in one great calorie burning exercise. It also uses most of the large muscles in the body and it is easy on the joints and bones.

then everything. literally everything that is not running is an alternative to running. take your pick. as long as it's not swimming. or anything else that you can't do.

to recap: anything that you can physically do that's not running is in fact an alternative to running.

Cycling. Fast cycling. It's my go-to when I can't run or need a break.

I love the elliptical. It kind of imitates running, but it is much less stressful on joints.

as in don't know how, or can't because it does something wonky to your shins? cause it's a good one if you can learn to do it.

you still have to drive through your legs for rowing (and elliptical, obviously), so if you're not healed up, maybe stay away from that. but there's no impact, if you're generally fine now and just worried about risk of future stress fractures, it'd probably be ok, I would think.

cycling is least stressful on lower limbs imo/ime
