Does this detox really work?

Water, cucumber slices, mint leaves, and lemon slices?
I've heard a lot about it and was curious as to whether it works or not? Thanks in advance!

It works to hydrate your body.. but other than that it does nothing.
You do not need to detox.0 -
Make sure you read the warnings on WebMD before starting any cleanse or detox.
If any of these quick fixes "worked" we would not be a nation of obese people.0 -
It makes a nice, refreshing drink, but that's about it. Given that your internal organs are functioning normally, you don't need to detox anything.0

I don't know if it works (or even actually what it was supposed to do) but I tried it the other day and highly recommend it. It's very tasty and refreshing for summer.0

Sounds delicious0

people don't need to detox so extreme. that sort of thing won't really help. There is a way to detox but not like this.0

That just sounds like something yummy to try on a hot day like today (it's 100 heat index where I am today).
Edited to add: For hydration, detoxing is a myth.0 -
Actually, of all the detoxes I have come across on the forums of MFP, this one sounds like one of the healthiest and probably most effective "detox" I have seen.
Water, flavored with natural "clean" foods, ingested as needed to hydrate the body so the liver and kidneys can detox your body the nature intended.0 -

sounds like a nice summer drink....especially if you add some good vodka :drinker:0 -
Well, I probably won't use it for a detox, more or less just a cleansing drink... not for weight loss necessarily. I have also read that it boosts metabolism?0
-
No. Get enough water and fiber. Period.0

It won't cleanse any better than water does. It also will not raise your metabolism.0 -
Works to do what? Hydrate - yes. Magically make you lose all your weight overnight - no.0
-
No. It won't work as a magical detox potion.
Tastes pretty good, though. And anything that encourages people to drink water isn't a bad thing.0 -
No.
But it sounds delicious.0 -

The only detox I have ever used is a 7 day, you eat different things for 7 days and then I started my diet.I actually had energy going into the diet cause I got rid of all the crap I had been eating. I lost a few pounds on it but I think it was mostly water0
