    Thanks for all the advice. I met with the group I'll be traveling with, and they said the fish is quite good in Scotland, and a couple of the places we're staying serve good locally sourced food.

    I'm thinking of leaving the FitBit home because of the issues with charging it, and I may be wireless for a bit. Also, if I'm not tracking food, the calorie count isn't that useful, and can be downright discouraging if I'm off plan. I might reconsider, as my husband just talked me into a Smartphone because my current phone doesn't do international calls.

    I live in Scotland and I have honestly never eaten a deep fried mars bar or a battered sausage, lol! You will find a great abundance of fresh, healthy foods here in Scotland if that's what you're looking for, don't worry. We will however be deeply offended if you don't at least try our haggis and our Stornoway black pudding while you're here (you can actually feel your arteries hardening as you eat them lol).
