Grrrrrr - hard to lift with a sprained thumb

So yesterday during volleyball I sprained my thumb. I didn’t think it was that bad at the time. I woke up this morning to go hit the gym for weights and lo and behold, I couldn’t even pick up my shoes. My thumb was all swollen and black and blue around the base of my hand. I can’t hold anything heavy at all which really impedes my 5x5 progression. So, what do I do? Cardio 6 days a week until it heals up? BORING! I usually use free weights, but do you think the smith machines will accommodate someone with a dysfunctional thumb?
This be my routine:
Squats
Bench
Overhead press
Deadlifts
Bent over rows
